With SEPTA’s deadline to secure funding just hours away, a bill passed by the Republican-controlled Pennsylvania Senate failed to advance after a House Committee voted against it yesterday.
Pennsylvania lawmakers will continue negotiations. If a transit funding bill isn’t approved, SEPTA will begin preparing for 20-percent service cuts, starting August 24th just as the new school year starts.
