Bernie Driscoll has retired as head coach of Kutztown men’s basketball after 25 years and 24 seasons on the bench. Driscoll won 366 games for the Golden Bears, the seventh-most in PSAC history. He’ll be replaced on an interim basis for the upcoming season by his long-time associate head coach, Tom York, and a search for a permanent replacement will begin in February.
With Driscoll’s retirement, IUP’s Joe Lombardi becomes the PSAC’s longest-tenured men’s basketball coach, entering his 20th season this year. He’s also the winningest active coach with 431 victories. Retired Edinboro coach Stan Swank won 581 games in 31 seasons.
