The new school year is fast approaching and Indiana County’s school districts are wrapping up final preparations.
The Indiana Area school board meets tomorrow night. The evening begins with a work session for the Academic & Extra Curricular Committee, followed by the regular board meeting. The agenda includes a number of agreements for services; the hiring of personnel including several teachers, along with coaches for basketball, wrestling, swimming & diving, rifle, and cheerleading; and updates on the Eisenhower and Senior High classroom projects.
An open house has been scheduled for Eisenhower Elementary on August 20th from 5 to 7 PM. The public is invited to enjoy a walkthrough of the building, which will finally reopen for classes this fall after being heavily damaged in a fire in April of 2021.
Purchase Line’s school board meets on Monday with an agenda packed with preparatory items for the new school year. It includes service agreements, an ongoing policy review, a number of coaching hires, and updates to the faculty and staff handbook.
Marion Center’s board will hold a work session on Monday. Their agenda includes service agreements, the hiring of several faculty members, and approval of substitute lists, plus school bus stops and volunteer coaches.
The United and River Valley boards meet on Tuesday. Penns Manor’s board meets on Wednesday.
