The Pennsylvania Game Commission has set the new Sunday hunting days for 2025.
Starting September 14th and continuing through the second Sunday of firearms deer season on December 7th, every Sunday that falls within an established hunting season will now be open to hunters. This marks a continued expansion of Sunday hunting opportunities in the state.
The change means hunters pursuing deer, bear, small game, and other eligible species will be able to head into the field on more weekends, which the Game Commission says could help boost participation and give sportsmen and women more flexibility in planning their hunts. The only exception is for migratory game bird seasons, which are governed by federal guidelines. The Game Commission says adding Sundays to those seasons would force a reduction in the total number of hunting days for 2025-26, so no changes will be made there.
The new Sunday schedule will take effect with the start of the fall hunting seasons this September. Full season dates are available at the Game Commission’s website.
