The Pirates pitchers and defense were able to hold the Reds off the scoreboard with a shutout last night at PNC Park. Greg Brown reports.
The two teams will play tonight. Mitch Kellar will start for the Bucs. He is 5-10 with a 3.89 ERA. The Reds will send Chase Burns, who is 0-3 with a 6.04 ERA. Airtime is 6:15 on WCCS, with first pitch slated for 6:40.
Before the game, former Pirate Ke’Brian Hayes got to say hello and shake hands with his former teammates. He was traded to the Reds at the trade deadline. The crowd at PNC Park greeted him warmly, and a video package was played before his first at-bat. After the game, he said it was weird to arrive at PNC Park and go to the visitors’ dugout and locker room.
