Two GoFundMe accounts have been set up to help victims of the Nicktown crash that took the life of a Northern Cambria student.
Cambria County officials said 17-year-old McKenna Gardner was killed in the crash along Nicktown Hill Road near Brick Lane in Barr Township early Sunday morning. She was one of four people in a compact car that state police said went off the road on the Northbound side of the road, spinning out and hitting a utility pole. Gardner was thrown from the car.
The online fundraiser was set up by her grandmother to raise money to put together a celebration of life service scheduled for next month on her 18th birthday.
The second fundraiser is for one of the other passengers in the vehicle, Logan Horvath. According to the GoFundMe page, he suffered serious burns to 40% of his body in the crash. The money from this one will go towards the family’s expenses, including lodging and transportation.
