A man serving life in prison for the murder of a toddler is back in court today for a post-conviction relief act hearing.
Court documents show 35-year-old Joshua Louis Turner will have his hearing for a post-conviction collateral relief. He was convicted in April 2010 on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault in the death of 19-month-old Leonard McIntire. State police said Turner, who was dating Leonard’s mother at the time, told them that he beat the toddler after he bit his finger in the Fall of 2008. A jury ordered him to serve life in prison for the first-degree murder charge, and an additional 20 years was added on for the aggravated assault charge.
He has been serving his sentence at the State Prison in Waynesburg in Greene County.
