On Tuesday night, Indiana Borough Council approved advertising an ordinance for a $1 million bond.
A representative with Raymond James Financial was on hand to give a presentation to council about the loan itself. Borough Manager Nicole Sipos said that the money will be used for a solar panel project at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. She also said that they will look to knock some time off the length of the bond repayment.
Raymond James will handle the advertising of the bond, and it will be up for approval at the work session later this month.
Council also approved a special event application for a cornhole tournament and concert sponsored by Downtown Indiana on South Carpenter Avenue on August 16th from 10 AM to 10 PM. A waiver of the borough’s open container rules was also approved with that application.
