The arrival of August means the resumption of school board meetings, with school starting as soon as three weeks from now in some districts, albeit with understandable anxiety about funding in the absence of a state budget.
Purchase Line’s board will hold a work session on Monday with an agenda loaded with preparatory items for the new academic year. It includes the hiring of an athletic director and a number of coaches, a motion for Purchase Line to join the ARIN Intermediate Unit STEAM Lending Library Consortium, a cybersecurity grant, and the list of Tri-County Transportation drivers.
United’s board is scheduled for a work session on Tuesday. Penns Manor and River Valley hold committee meetings on Wednesday. Homer-Center has scheduled a planning meeting and special voting meeting for Thursday.
The Indiana County Technology Center will have its new student orientation on Wednesday at 5:30.
At IUP, Summer Session II classes end on Friday. Classes for the new academic year start on August 25th.
