Over 13,000 were in attendance at Memorial Stadium in Latrobe for the Steelers annual “Friday Night Lights” session of training camp. It also marked the second time the players put on the pads for camp. In the “Seven Shots” drill, Mason Rudolph and Will Howard lead the offense back from a 3-0 deficit to win the final four reps. One scrum did erupt on the high school field as Skylar Thompson decided to take on linebacker Mark Robinson after the first rep in the backs-on-backers drills. Afterwards, the two hugged it out.
As far as injuries go, Isaac Seumalo returned to duty a day after being activated from the non-football injury list. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. did not suit up. Cameron Heyward did but did not take part in practice. Tackle Calvin Anderson left with an injury after slipping on the grass. Cory Trice did not finish because of a hamstring injury. Training camp returns to Saint Vincent today at 1:55 PM.
