The Steelers took off the pads, but there was plenty of action yesterday at St. Vincent, especially among new Steelers. Tight end Jonnu Smith scuffled with safety Juan Thornhill twice, and wide receiver DK Metcalf got into it with safety Chuck Clark.
Coach Mike Tomlin says he likes the aggressiveness of his team.
Tomlin agrees with quarterback Aaron Rodgers that he still has a lot to learn about the Steelers’ offense.
The coach is looking forward to tonight’s “Friday Night Lights” practice at Memorial Stadium in Latrobe, which he says is the Steelers’ way of saying “thanks” to the community and a valuable team experience.
Three Steelers defensive linemen have knee injuries. Esezi Otomewo, Dean Lowry and Jacob Slade are all being evaluated.
Offensive guard Isaac Seumalo saw his first action of training camp and tackle Broderick Jones continued to work on his own after suffering a soft tissue injury last Sunday.
