Pitt is picked to finish ninth in the seventeen-member ACC in the preseason media poll. Clemson is the top choice, followed by Miami, SMU, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Duke, Florida State, North Carolina, Pitt and NC State.
Pitt finished tenth in the conference last year.
After just one day of practice, the Panthers are restocking the running backs room. Tailbacks Derrick Davis, Ja’Kyrian Turner, and Synkwan Smith are already all out for the season. Davis is a senior who will take a medical redshirt and serve as a student coach this season. Turner and Smith are freshmen.
