UPDATE: Jeremy Garlena was arrested yesterday afternoon in the “00” block of North 6th Street after Indiana Borough Police received a tip from the community. He was safely taken into custody and is in Indiana County Jail on the warrant issued by County Detectives.

A White Township man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he tried to engage in sexual contact with someone he believed was a minor.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced that 41-year-old Jeremey Garlena was communicating online with what he thought was a 15-year-old girl in Louisiana. The “girl” was actually an undercover police detective.

Garlena is accused of requesting explicit photos, sending nude images of himself, and attempting to arrange a sexual relationship. He now faces three felony charges, including unlawful contact with a minor for the purposes of statutory sexual assault, disseminating explicit material, and solicitation of child pornography.
A warrant for Garlena’s arrest has been issued by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Sottile. If you see him, you’re urged to contact local police, the Indiana County Sheriff’s Office, or the District Attorney’s Office.
Investigators recovered evidence from Garlena’s phone during a search of his home, including the online conversations and photos he sent.
