Two fires this morning have kept Indiana County’s first responders busy.
The first fire was reported at 4:34 AM at the Fabin Pig Farm on Route 286 in Center Township.

Aultman, Homer City, Blairsville, Coral-Graceton, Indiana and Coal Run fire departments were sent out at the time, along with the county’s HAZMAT Team. Tunnelton, Iselin, Saltsburg and Blacklick Fire Department were called to assist four minutes later. The barn was destroyed in the fire, along with all the pigs and a lot of hay. The number of pigs killed was not available. No word on the cause yet. State Police Fire Marshals have been asked to investigate
Nearly 20 minutes later, a fire was reported on Hillside Drive at the Clymer Park apartments in Cherryhill Township. Clymer, Cherryhill Township, Commodore and Pine fire departments along with the RIT team were sent out at 4:52, with Brush Valley called in for standby detail at 5:00 and Creekside sent to assist at 5:02.
Clymer fire officials say that the fire was electrical in nature and started in an HVAC system in one of the five-unit structures. The fire spread to the wall and floor of the apartment building. No injuries were reported, but three people were displaced. Those people are staying with nearby family members.
