State police are investigating the theft of copper wire from Verizon in Canoe Township.
Troopers from the Punxsutawney Barracks say it happened between July 16th and the 23rd at a location on Union Hill Road. It was determined that the thief or thieves made off with 500 feet of copper wire encased in black rubber. The value of the stolen material is approximately $18,000.
