The PIAA Board of Directors yesterday approved the adoption of the 35-second shot clock for boys and girls basketball, starting with the 2028-29 season. The motion passed on a vote of 22-9. It must pass two more times to be enacted, and there are still open items to be determined on the implementation of the clock. The board will meet again in September.
The shot clock would be in effect only for varsity and junior varsity play, not for junior high.
