The details of Jalen Ramsey’s new contract with the Steelers were released yesterday. Pittsburgh acquired the three-time All-Pro cornerback from Miami two weeks ago and reworked his deal. The Steelers will be responsible for $19.5 million and the Dolphins will pay him $7 million, $4 million of which they already paid in a required roster bonus in March.
Calculating his prorated signing bonus and other factors, Ramsey’s salary cap hit to the Steelers will be $4.904 million. With Minkah Fitzpatrick’s contract now being paid by Miami, the deal for Ramsey in essence clears more than ten-and-a-half million dollars in cap space for the Steelers.
The Steelers report to training camp in Latrobe a week from today.
