Pitt Panthers Starting Quarterback Eli Holstein has received a national nomination for his commitment to the local community. The Redshirt Sophomore was named a nominee for the 2025 Allstate Good Works Team, a nationwide honor that showcases collegiate athletes for outstanding community service and leadership. In his short time at Pitt, Holstein’s been involved with local high school programs and hospital visits. A visit to UPMC Children’s Hospital last month gained notoriety, as Holstein shaved his head in solidarity with 13-year-old Julia Espinosa, who previously made the decision to do so following treatment for an organ transplant.
The All-State Good Works team only selects 10 males and 10 females for each winter, spring, and fall sports season, totaling just 60 student athletes across the whole year from college programs at every level.
