The wheeling and dealing continued for Penguins president of hockey operations Kyle Dubas yesterday, as he acquired 24-year-old goaltender Arturs Silovs from Vancouver for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton forward Chase Stillman and a 2027 fourth-round draft pick. Silovs will be a restricted free agent after next season. He led Abbotsford to the AHL Calder Cup championship last season and won the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as postseason MVP.
Silovs had a 2-6-1 record with the Canucks in the NHL last season, with a 3.65 goals-against average and an .861 save percentage.
The Pens traded goalie Alex Ndeljkovic to San Jose on July 1st.
