Two people from Johnstown were sentenced this week for their involvement in drug operations in Indiana and Cambria Counties.
US District Judge Marilyn Horan ordered 39-year-old Kevin Johnson to serve 100 months in prison followed by four years of probation, while 58-year-old Daniel Culmer was sentenced to 96 months in prison and six years of probation. Johnson had been accused of distributing crack cocaine between March and July of 2021, while Culmer performed his distribution between April and July of 2021. The two were intercepted on a federal wiretap obtaining the drugs that they would later give to others. At the time, Culmer was on supervised release for a prior federal conviction in 2018 for distributing heroin in Western PA.
This was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation. The group’s mission is to identify, disrupt, and dismantle high-level drug organizations, along with money launderers, gangs, and transnational crime organizations.
