Today is Independence Day and as it is a federal holiday, there are several closures in effect.
Federal, state and local government offices are closed for today, including the county courts and PA Driver’s License Centers. State liquor stores that are normally open on a Friday will be open until 5:00 tonight. Many banks have closed their in-person offices today, but will continue to offer services through ATMs, apps and websites.
The US Postal Service will not have regular mail delivery, and post offices will be closed. UPS and FedEx will not have pickups or deliveries today.
One entity that will not be closed today is the police department. State police are already out for the Independence Day enforcement period looking out for speeders, aggressive and erratic drivers, and those under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
