A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 8 PM EDT today for counties east and northeast of Pittsburgh. Damaging wind gusts, hail up to quarter size, and frequent lightning are the primary threats. Heavy downpours may also lead to localized flooding issues.
We are anticipating one more day of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Some storms will be severe with wind gusts from downbursts being the main concern. The other impact will be excessive rainfall leading to potential flooding again.
