Two groups of Indiana County Students were honored for their participation at the Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering fair.
They were part of 573 students from 74 middle and high schools across western PA taking part at the event at Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh. Students from Indiana Junior High and the Purchase Line elementary school took second place in their individual divisions.
Indiana Junior High students Piper Kuzneski-Allen, Addlyn Newell and Eliana Reed took second place in the Consumer Science category for their presentation on “Which Cheesecake Baking Method is Best?” The students tested out four methods for preparing a traditional cheesecake ranging from air fryers to microwave ovens.
Purchase Line elementary students Lucy Faught, Addison Howells, and Allison Spencer took second place in Junior Biological Sciences for their project on the sweetness of apple varieties.
Other students from Indiana County were able to take home sponsor awards for their projects. You can find a list of winners at the link below.
