The Indiana County Commissioners this morning approved accepting a grant for a county housing program designed to help seniors.
The conditional grant agreement is with the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Authoirty through their Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement Funds-Realty Transfer Tax. The county will receive $150,000, and Luann Zack with the County Office of Planning and Development says the money will go to the county’s 55+ Roof and Heating Systems Replacement Program. She said roughly 150 homes have been assisted through the program.
Also approved during the meeting was a contract for phase 2A of the Challenger Learning Center project. CNC Construction of Penn Run had the low bid of $47,900 for construction of interior wall framing with drywall on one side for designated areas of the building on the campus of ICTC. No word yet on when the school will be ready for students.
