Phil Steele’s annual Preseason All-American Team has two Pitt Panthers on the first team. Running back Desmond Reid and linebacker Kyle Louis earned the honor. Both were also named first-teamers on Steele’s Preseason All-ACC team, with Reid also chosen as first team punt returner.
Center Lyndon Cooper, defensive end Jimmy Scott, and linebacker Rasheem Biles all made second team All-ACC. Wide receiver Kenny Johnson and cornerback Rashad Battle were named to the third team.
Steele also picks Penn State to win the Big Ten and places them at the top of his overall power rankings. He also picks Nick Singleton as the nation’s number one draft-eligible running back, naming him to his All-American first team along with Singleton’s teammate, guard Vega Ioane.
