The Penns Manor School Board met last night and approved the 2024-25 budget.
By a 7-2 vote, next year’s spending plan was approved. It contained a tax increase of 5.9%, bringing taxes to 16.2840 mills. Expenses came to around $21.2 million while revenues were estimated at $20.1 million. The district will also use $1.1 million from the fund balance to fill the spending gap. Other budget items including the Homestead and Farmstead Exclusion resolution and the Earned Income and Net Profits tax were also approved.
The school board will meet for committee meetings July 2nd, while the voting session will be held one week later.

I don’t believe that the school tax should be raised for those over 65. I understand that they need an increase but I don’t even think that we over 65, who have no children or no grandchildren in the school system should even pay school taxes.
