The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for our area that will start later this morning.
The advisory runs from 11 AM to 10 PM for Indiana, Westmoreland, Jefferson and Armstrong counties. Heavy rainfall is expected for today, and the runoff could result in creeks, streams and rivers flooding along with with other low-lying and flood-prone areas. The advisory also states that debris could clog storm drains and ditches. Area creeks and streams are already running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
People are advised to be ready in case flooding does start and a flash flood warning is issued. If you see a flooded roadway, the best thing to do is to turn around and drive the other way.
Stay with us on-air and online as we’ll have the latest AccuWeather forecast throughout the day.
