Along with the sentencing for Rony Gomez Lopez today is the sentencing hearing for a man who pleaded guilty to an animal cruelty charge.
Indiana Borough Police charged 25-year-old Zachary Tyler Yeager in connection with a month-long investigation into animal abuse allegations at a home on North 2nd Street that started in November. Officers found one dog dead that showed signs of neglect, and two dogs that while alive, were going through the same signs. Yeager pleaded guilty to the one animal cruelty count, while a count of aggravated animal cruelty was not prosecuted.
Two others at the home, 23-year-old Krista Yeager and 21-year-old Lailonie Dallas, were also charged. Krista was ordered in February to serve a year of probation for a guilty plea to cruelty to animals, while court documents say the last time Dallas’ case was before a judge was a criminal call hearing in May. She faces three aggravated cruelty counts.
