The Penguins made two signings on Friday. One is a re-signing of Boko Imama to a one-year, two-way contract with a salary cap hit of $775,000, preventing him from becoming an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. Appearing in 16 NHL contests, he had one goal while averaging 5:40 of ice time per contest.
The other signing was forward prospect Melvin Fernstrom to a three-year entry-level contract. This will carry a salary cap hit of $872,500. Fernstrom was acquired as part of a multi-player trade that sent forward Drew O’Connor and defenseman Marcus Pettersson to the Vancouver Canucks on Jan. 31.
