In softball action, the Purchase Line Red Dragons secured a berth in the PIAA single-A playoffs as they won the Division 6 third-place game over Conemaugh Valley 7-2.
Alora Phillips, Kaitlyn Houser and Marissa Pearce each had two RBI’s, with the seventh run batted in by Rylee Mahaffey. Mahaffey was stellar on the mound as well, allowing two runs on three hits, walking three and striking out 11.
