For the third time this week, an area sports team has won a district championship and is headed to the state tournament.
Homer-Center’s baseball team came from behind to beat Juniata Valley, 6-5, at Mount Aloysius College to take the PIAA District 6 1A baseball title. This marks the fourth time in the last seven games that the Wildcats came from behind at the last possible moment to win.

Earlier in the week, Indiana High came from behind to win the WPIAL championship, and West Shamokin’s softball team won the District 6 double-A title.
