Indiana County’s unemployment rate went down in the month of April.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, the rate for the county went down from 4.8% in March to 3.7% last month. It is three-tenths of a percentage point higher than April of 2024. Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate is 3.5% while the federal rate is 3.9%.
By comparison, Clearfield County’s rate is 4.4%, making it the highest in the region. Armstrong County’s rate is the next highest at 4.3, followed by Jefferson County 4.2. Cambria County’s is 4.1 and Westmoreland County is 3.9, making Indiana county’s rate the lowest in the area.
