With today being a day to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country, several Memorial Day ceremonies are planned.
Indiana’s traditional Memorial Day ceremonies will be held at Memorial Park at 10:30 this morning. At that same time, there will be a parade in Dayton followed by ceremonies at 11:00. There will also be a parade in Downtown Blairsville at 10:30 starting at Grandview Avenue and going West on Market Street to the Veterans Memorial, where a solemn observance will be held after the parade is over. A lunch will be held at the Blairsville VFW for veterans and their families afterwards.
The Homer City American Legion will host a Memorial Day service at 11:00 outside of their headquarters on Mullen Avenue. There will also be a parade in Plumville at that time. Marion Center’s parade will be held at 1:00.
