Altoona split a doubleheader at Akron, winning the first game 1-0 but losing the nightcap, 5-4. In the first seven-inning game, three pitchers threw a combined one-hitter, with Jarod Bayless throwing three no-hit innings, Emmanuel Chapman throwing two innings without allowing a hit, and Wilkin Ramos tossing the final two and giving up one hit.
In the second game, Mitch Jebb and Kervin Pichardo each had two hits and Termarr Johnson hit a two-run double.
The Curve return home to host Portland (Red Sox) for a six-game series starting tomorrow night.
