Indiana’s Rite Aid has been added to a list of locations that will close as part of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy proceedings.
Earlier this week, the company announced locations in Derry, Blairsville, Nanty Glo and Northern Cambria were on a list of stores that were going out of business. In a filing in a U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Jersey, Rite Aid’s CEO Matt Schroeder said they had financial challenges that were intensified due to the rapidly changing landscapes of retail and healthcare marketplaces.
The final day of operation is not yet known, but it is expected to come in the next few weeks. Those who get their prescriptions will still be able to get their prescriptions for now, but that information may be transferred to another pharmacy.
