A Homer City man pled guilty today to charges related to the case of a fatal DUI crash on January 7th.
24-year-old Reed Thomas Tantlinger pled guilty to charges of Homicide by Vehicle While DUI, a felony of the first degree. Tantlinger reportedly rear-ended a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Hunter McCloskey on Route 422 in Pine Township. The crash pushed McCloskey’s vehicle into several boulders and a utility pole, resulting in his death. Tantlinger was no longer able to drive his vehicle due to the damage caused from the crash. He realized that McCloskey was deceased and then fled the scene on foot. Tantlinger was found several hours later at a relative’s house. A legal blood draw showed that he was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.
Tantlinger faces a mandatory minimum seven years incarceration and a maximum of twenty years in a state correctional facility.
