PennDOT is announcing road closures coming up next month in Indiana county due to replacement projects.
The first is the replacement of Green Valley Bridge on McIntyre Road in Young and Armstrong Townships. McIntyre Road will be closed June 9th through the end of July between the intersections of Old 56 and Rearick Road. To detour, starting at the bridge, travel south on McIntyre Road and turn left at the intersection of Rearick Road to stay on McIntyre Road. Turn right onto Park Road then turn right onto Blackleggs Road. Turn right turn onto Old Route 56 to complete the detour.
Another is the replacement of a bridge on Clarksburg Road, which will be closed June 9th through November 10th. To detour, motorists will travel on Clarksburg Road, to Saltsburg Road and continue onto Route 286.
Also slated for replacement is the Yellow Creek Bridge on South Sixth Street. The road will be closed June 9th through the end of September between the intersections of Lucerne Road/Ferguson Road and Route 56. To detour south from Route 422 west, traffic should follow Exit A/US 119 South/Blairsville to Route 56 east in Homer City. Then turn left onto Route 56 to South Sixth Street. To detour north from the intersection of Routes 56/South Sixth Street, traffic should follow Route 56 west to the Route 119 north intersection in Homer City. Traffic should then turn right onto Route 119 north and proceed to the Exit A/route 422 East/Ebensburg and proceed to South Sixth Street.
The first and third projects are being handled by Francis J Palo Inc of Clarion costing $943,000 and $2.8 million, respectively. The second project was given to Plum Contracting Inc of Greensburg with a price tag of $3.15 million.
