The Evergreen After School Club’s annual Kiss-A-Pig fundraiser starts tonight with a kickoff event at Noble Stein Brewery starting at 5:00 PM.
During the event, the competitors will be unveiled for the summer-long fundraiser that will have them hosting events and collecting money in various ways to benefit the after-school program. The club is an after school and summer program meant to promote educational and character development of the children in kindergarten through eighth grade in Indiana and Armstrong counties. It is a partner program with ARIN IU28 and 21st Century Learning Centers.
The participant who raises the most money will have the honor of kissing a pig at the Indiana County Fair on August 27th just before marching band night gets underway. Last year, over $17,000 was raised, and the winner was Indiana School District Superintendent Rob Heinrich.
