The Altoona Curve pitchers were on fire last night, striking out fourteen Harrisburg batters in a 5-4 victory at People’s Natural Gas Field.
Wilbur Dotel allowed three runs on nine hits and struck out six through four innings. Justin Meis, Wilkin Ramos and Cam Sanders covered the final five innings on the mound and combined for eight strikeouts, with Ramos picking up the win in relief and Sanders the save. With the Curve trailing 3-2 in the fourth inning, the Curve loaded the bases with two outs after a hit by pitch, a single and a walk. Mitch Jebb then hit a double to give the Curve the lead.
The two teams will play again tonight, with Sean Sullivan starting for Altoona.
