Parishioners at two Indiana County Churches are being warned of a phishing scam.
Churchgoers at the St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Thomas More University Parish were notified of someone emailing them asking them to purchase a gift card and to email back the numbers on the card. After the suspect receives the numbers, they stop sending the emails. The email uses the name of the pastor or the church, and the email address used is parishpastor4545@gmail.com
Those who receive the email are asked to not click on any links in the email, nor give away any personal or financial information. They also ask that the email be deleted.
