Earlier this week, the PA Senate voted to send a bill concerning women’s sports in high school and college to the floor of the House.
The Save Women’s Sports Act, also known as Seante Bill 9, will provide for sports activities for public schools and colleges to be expressly designated as male, female or coed, effectively barring transgender women and girls from competing on female sports teams. The bill also offers legal recourse for students who are “deprived of an athletic opportunity” because a transgender female is allowed to compete.
Senator Joe Pittman joined 31 other senators in voting in favor of the bill.
