Yesterday, the Indiana High Baseball team beat Hollidaysburg, 7-3, to run their record to 19-1 on the season.
Indiana’s defense and pitching limited Hollidaysburg to one hit on the day. Sully VanHoose had three RBIs and was 3-4 at the plate, while Tim Burch knocked in two runs. Brady Oakes picked up the win going 3 and a thirds innings allowing one hit and three runs, striking out seven in the process. VanHoose picked up the save going 2 and two-thirds innings in relief.
This season has been one of the most successful seasons in the program’s history. Coach Dan Petroff says that while the record is good, it’s time to shift into playoff mode.
The brackets for the WPIAL playoffs were released yesterday as well, and Indiana earned the number 1 seed, giving them a bye in the first round. On May 20th, they will play the winner of the Knoch-Ambridge game.
