Many people are waking up having to deal with the damage from last night’s storms.
Many calls for power lines down, trees down and other calls related to the storm were reported yesterday evening. As of this time, there is no word on how many calls came in to Indiana County 911 connected with the storm.
Storm damage may still be prevalent. A portion of Route 210 in the northern part of the county is closed this morning as a tree is blocking the road. Also, a portion of 119 just north of Rayne Township Elementary School is closed due to power lines being down. Debris on Route 110 near Creekside has also caused that road to be closed in both directions. Three portions of 422 are also closed. Those are:
- Between Muskrat Slide Road and Bradish Road in Plumcreek Township
- Between Lions Health Camp Road and Tulip Drive in White Township
- Between Diehl Road and Yellow Creek Park Road in Cherryhill Township.
You can find more on the road closures at 511pa.com.
As of this morning, nearly half of Penelec customers in Indiana County are without power. 13,889 outages have been reported. Indiana Borough and White Township have the most number of outages from Penelec. REA reports 9885 cooperative members in Indiana County are without power this morning.
As the storm damage is extensive, there is no formal timetable available for full restoration. Penelec officials say this may be a multi-day restoration effort.
