The experts seem to think the Steelers did pretty well in the NFL Draft, despite not having a second round pick. The post-draft analysis includes an “A” from Vinny Iyer of The Sporting News and Chad Reuter of NFL.com; an “A-” from Rob Rang of Fox Sports; a “B+” from Nate Davis of USA Today; and “B-” from ESPN’s Mel Kiper, Jr. and Chris Trapasso, Mike Renner, and Ryan Wilson, all of CBS Sports.
General manager Omar Khan was pleased with the Steelers’ draft.
Khan says the Steelers knew the type of players they wanted, and they found them in this draft.
Coach Mike Tomlin says the Steelers wanted to get tougher this offseason.
Tomlin says the Steelers liked the way sixth round choice quarterback Will Howard responded to a rough late-season performance against Michigan to lead Ohio State to the national championship.
Tomlin loves everything about the team’s fourth round choice, Ohio State edge rusher Jack Sawyer.

The son of Falcons defensive coordinator Ben Ulbrich has admitted he used a confidential “NFL-only” phone number to prank call quarterback Shedeur Sanders and tell him the New Orleans Saints were going to take him in the draft on Saturday. 21-year-old Jax Ulbrich publicly apologized for impersonating Saints GM Mickey Loomis, writing “Shedeur, what I did was completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful. I’m so sorry I took away from your moment, it was selfish and childish.”
