The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has released new recommendations for poultry producers to fight the spread of the avian flu.
They’re calling for more diligence and caution about poultry coming into contact with wild birds and cattle. They also recommend keeping chickens indoors if possible while the disease remains at large. Seventeen new cases of avian flu have been reported across four states in the last thirty days. None of these cases include Pennsylvania farms.
