The Cherryhill Township fire department has received a grant from the Community Foundation of the Alleghenies.
The $5733 award was presented to the department last August and was used to buy three bunker coats and three pairs of fire pants to outfit some of their members. Cherryhill Township Chief and Treasurer Jody Rainey said this will help keep them safe in their work. He said that with gear being costly, funding opportunities like the one from the foundation are a sure way of getting the protective gear they need.
The Cherryhill Township Fire Company is encouraging regional donors to investigate ways they can contribute to assist the many projects that the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies supports to enhance public safety, recreation, the arts and other areas.
