In Spring Training baseball, the Pirates beat the Tampa Bay Rays yesterday 3-2.
Isaiah Kiner-Falefa had an RBI double in the bottom of the second to score Nick Gonzales. In the bottom of the 5th, Tommy Pham scored on a passed ball, and Endy Rodriguez hit into a fielder’s choice that allowed Bryan Reynolds to come home.
Mitch Keller picked up the win with one strikeout, one walk and two hits allowed in three innings of work. Cristofer Melendez allowed one hit in the 9th, but picked up the save.
The Pirates will continue Grapefruit League play today against the Baltimore Orioles. Paul Skenes will make his first scheduled start for the Bucs. Airtime is 1:00 on WCCS.
