Sullivan says Geno Malkin can get hot and carry a team.
Forward Michael Bunting had an appendectomy yesterday and is out indefinitely. Forward Boko Imama was activated from the injured list and played last night. Matt Nieto cleared waivers and was sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Emil Bemstrom was called up.
The Penguins play three games in the next four days, starting with the Bruins and Maple Leafs tomorrow afternoon and Sunday in Pittsburgh, and then a trip west to play the Avalanche in Denver on Tuesday.
