The Penguins dropped their third straight game last night after the return from the 4 Nations Face-Off break, and it was another embarrassment. Paul Steigerwald recaps the loss in Philadelphia. (6-1)
The Penguins’ goaltending has been terrible since the return from the break. Alex Ndeljkovic stopped only 32 of 38 shots on goal and took the blame afterward. But coach Mike Sullivan says the problem was not the goaltending…it was the puck management.
Forward Bryan Rust was activated and played on the top line with Sidney Crosby and Rickard Rakell. Forward Boko Imama was put on injured reserve. Defenseman Matt Grzelcyk was back on the ice after leaving Sunday’s game with a head injury when he was checked into the boards.
The Pens are back at PPG Paints Arena on Thursday, again against the Flyers.
