At the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis yesterday, Steelers general manager Omar Khan said he is “hopeful and confident” that he can sign TJ Watt to a contract extension before next season starts. He called Watt a “legacy guy.”
Khan also confirmed that Broderick Jones will move to left tackle and Troy Fautanu will take over at right tackle next season, and he said finding help at wide receiver is a top priority, and they will “look everywhere” to upgrade the position. He’d like to keep George Pickens at wideout. At quarterback, Khan said he’s already had talks with the agents for Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, but “all options are on the table,” including the draft, a trade, or other free agents.
